Port Fairy to Robe was an entirely uneventful trip – except for the pouring rain that started as soon as we got to Robe! Fortunately the weather was a bit better (though VERY windy( and we did a bit of a walk in the Port Fairy area and Continue reading

Day 44 – Port Fairy – 28 October 2017
Before leaving Apollo Bay we did a drive around the town and I was once again impressed by how pretty the town is and how gorgeous the ocean is around these parts – and all along the Great Ocean Road so far really. From just south of Continue reading
Day 43 – Apollo Bay – 27 October 2017
From Melton we headed back towards Torquay and the start of the Great Ocean Road – a must see trip on any traveler’s list! As we’d already been to Torquay we skipped the town and instead went to Continue reading
Day 36-42 – Melbourn/Melton – 21-26 October 2017
We managed a nice break in our routine of packing up and moving to a new hotel/motel every day and spent almost a week with Brian’s sister in Melton near Melbourne, which was very good! I decided to just do one big post for the week with lots of pictures – mostly so that I don’t have to write much or have to think of anything to say! Continue reading
Day 36 – Metung – 20 October 2017
The theme of howling wind and threatening rain continued as we left Merimbula and had a quick look at the beaches south of the town. I treated myself to a Maxibon ice cream sandwich on the way to Metung to make myself feel better and found it tasty, though not something I’d eat every day. Continue reading
Day 35 – Merimbula – 19 October 2017
We didn’t do too much sightseeing around Bermagui as the wind was so strong, and we were hoping it would be better the next morning. The wind seemed to have calmed down a bit by the morning, but by the time we got going it was properly howling again, and continued in that vein all day! Continue reading
Day 34 – Bermagui – 18 October 2017
I am many, many days behind on the blog again – but fortunately not too much terribly exciting has been happening! It has mostly been beaches and more beaches!

Day 33 – Jervis Bay – 17 October 2017
Before leaving Sydney there was one tourist attraction that we hadn’t seen – Bondi Beach – so of course we had to go and have a look at it before getting on the road again. As it turns out it was ok, pretty much just another beach, but I can see that it would be a nice area to live in with lots of cafes and interesting little shops. Continue reading
Day 30-32 – Sydney – 14-16 October 2017
The trip from Newcastle to Sydney probably would have been very scenic if it wasn’t for the torrential rain we were driving through, making it impossible to see the road, much less any of the surrounding scenery! Once again the weather forecast was correct, but it also predicted that it would clear up a bit by the time we got to Sydney, so we weren’t too worried. Continue reading
Day 29 – Newcastle – 13 October 2017
As we left Port Macquarie I simply had to stop at Bels Gordon Street Bakery for one of their pies. I had their famous Beef & Reef pie, with beef and prawns, and what looked and tasted like a Mornay Sauce on top and it was absolutely amazing! Continue reading
