Merimbula RSL Club

Day 35 – Merimbula – 19 October 2017

We didn’t do too much sightseeing around Bermagui as the wind was so strong, and we were hoping it would be better the next morning. The wind seemed to have calmed down a bit by the morning, but by the time we got going it was properly howling again, and continued in that vein all day!

We still made the effort to drive around Bermagui and had a look at The Point and The Blue Pool before slowly making our way down the coast, stopping pretty much anywhere that looked remotely interesting.

After doing a spot of much needed shopping at Woolworths we checked out Merimbula Point (some amazing red rocks) and Short Point before checking into the South Seas Motel. By this time the weather was starting to take a turn for the worse and we didn’t explore the town too much, only making our way to Club Sapphire for a drink before deciding to have dinner at Merimbula RSL.

The Club is in the process of being renovated and along with a pretty good view will be a lovely place to have a meal and a drink – not that it isn’t already! I had a very good seafood curry dish, with just enough heat to make it interesting and a very good ratio of seafood to vegetables – while Brian made do with a beer or two!
